CCTV images released as hunt for South Yorkshire pensioner continues

Police searches are continuing today for a pensioner who has not been seen since he left a bus on Tuesday afternoon.

Extensive enquiries have been carried out since Barry Jones, 77, was reported missing that day.

Now officers have released CCTV images in the hope it will help to jog someone's memory.

Earlier enquiries established that Mr Jones boarded the X5 bus in Aston, heading towards Sheffield, at around 11.05am.

He is then thought to have got onto the 120 bus to Fulwood at around 12.12pm.

CCTV footage captured at Sheffield city centre bus station shows Mr Jones station getting on the X5 bus towards Dinnington at approximately 1.10pm.

He is then believed to have got off the X5 bus at the Woodhouse Mill stop at around 1.20pm that day.

A South Yorkshire Police spokesman said: "This is the last known sighting of Barry, and officers are urging the public to please come forward if they were on any of these buses at the same time, or believe they may have seen Barry."

Mr Jones was last seen wearing blue jeans, a thermal vest and a green coat with a leather collar.

He is about 5ft 8in, slim and has a shaved head.

Anyone with information on his whereabouts is asked to call police on 101, quoting incident number 628 of 28 February 2017.
