Celebritiesdraw up plan to help RNLI

Tracey Emin and Vic Reeves have donated works to be sold at an anonymous charity auction this weekend.

They have designed postcards which will be sold in Emin’s home town of Margate in Kent to raise money for the RNLI.

Designer Zandra Rhodes, actor Martin Clunes and adventurer Bear Grylls have also created images which could see bidders making a bargain investment.

Margate Harbour Arm Gallery is selling 100 postcard-sized pieces of work, although the identity of the artists will be secret until all works have been auctioned.

Clunes said: “Being very familiar with the work of the RNLI, I know that the professionalism of its volunteer lifeboat crews has been honed down to a fine art, so I am only too happy to lend my creative flair.”

An exhibition of the work is open at the gallery daily and also online at www.facebook.com /margateharbourarm.

Last year a similar auction raised 8,000 for a cancer charity.
