Centenary appeal to benefit hospice

LAWYERS celebrating the centenary of their firm have launched a fundraising partnership with Sheffield’s St Luke’s Hospice and the national charity Help the Hospices.

Irwin Mitchell, which is based in Sheffield and employs over 2,000 people, said it had decided to adopt the two charities as part of its 100th birthday celebrations.

Adrian Budgen, partner at Irwin Mitchell and chairman of the firm’s charitable trust said: “We are delighted to be supporting such a wonderfully deserving charity as St Luke’s Hospice as part of our partnership with Help the Hospices.

“St Luke’s has, for many years, played a crucial role in caring for people and we are very proud to play our part in supporting the charity to deliver that service.”

Hospice chief executive Peter Hartland said: “We are delighted that Irwin Mitchell have decided to select us as their partner for their 100th anniversary year.

“Knowing that the whole Sheffield Irwin Mitchell team is supporting us in the year ahead is the best news we could have as we continue to raise £4m annually, money that we need to maintain services at the hospice and in the wider community.
