HOWARD Webb, the man who refereed the 2010 World Cup final, presided over another prestigious event last week – the opening of a world-class manufacturer’s £4m service centre.

Premier Hytemp’s new 14,000 sq ft facility complements the group’s manufacturing facilities in Sheffield and Singapore and sales centre in Texas. The £52m business is a global leader in the supply and manufacture of steel, alloy and components.

Donald Wilson, left, group managing director, pictured with Howard Webb and group financial director Will Gold, said: “The opening of this important new facility underlines Sheffield’s continuing role at the heart of the global steel, metal and alloy industries. We are delighted, after having to mothball our operational capacity in Sheffield during the economic downturn, to open this state-of-the art service centre.”

Howard Webb MBE, who refereed the World Cup final between Spain and the Netherlands, said: “As a Yorkshireman, it gave me great pleasure to be involved in the official opening, by a recognised world leader in its field, of this impressive new facility in Sheffield.”
