Champion ale at biggest beer festival

ONE of the country’s biggest beer festivals opened in Yorkshire yesterday, and a Yorkshire ale brewed just a few miles from the venue was judged the best of the 250 which will be on offer during the event.

The Full Malty, from Wentworth Brewery, won the Beer of Yorkshire title after being judged by a panel including Rotherham superbike champion James Toseland.

Drinkers will be able to sample it at the Rotherham Real Ale and Music Festival, which runs until Saturday and is expected to attract more than 11,000 people.
