Champion of arts and farming dies

A SUPPORTER of farming and the arts in North Yorkshire, who was the Duchess of Kent's brother, passed away on Tuesday night at the age of 83.

Oliver Worsley, who was battling Huntingdon's disease, helped to set up a York art centre and was involved with many media and arts organisations.

His wife, Penelope, said: "He will be remembered for treating everybody as a friend."

A thanksgiving service will be held at All Saints' Church in Hovingham at 2:30pm on Monday, December 13.
