Chance to get fit in the forest

Studies show a quarter of the British population is classed as physically inactive but now woodland chiefs have come up with the perfect answer and want people to get fighting fit in the forest. The Forestry Commission say that its 22,400 hectares of woodland in the region, including Dalby Forest, near Pickering, above, and Guisborough Forest and Walkway, offer endless possibilities to help raise fitness.

Tanya Rex, of the Forestry Commission said: “The message is do yourself and your kids a power good and get out in the fresh air and enjoy your woods.” Visit www.forestry.gov.uk/forestfit for details.
