DO you think the police are good value for money?

West Yorkshire Police Authority has created an online survey to find out how people feel about the cost of policing the county.

The results will influence the budget for the next financial year.

Councillor Mark Burns Williamson, chairman of the Police Authority said: "In these hard financial times, it is clear that every penny counts and council tax payers need to feel like they are getting value for money from their local police.

"As we now consider the budget for next year we want to continue with improvements in local policing and to build on the investments we have made in providing extra police officers and PCSOs, for example.

The current Band D council tax for policing in West Yorkshire is 127.32 a year, the third lowest in the country.
