Charity’s reward to catch cat attackers

SHOCKED animal welfare workers have offered a reward of £1,000 for information which leads to the conviction of “heartless thugs” who superglued a cat’s tail to its eye.

Earlier this month, the Yorkshire Post told how the cat, Charlie, had lost its eye after the attack, and yesterday campaigners said “animal abusers” often went on to attack humans.

People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) said the attack in Swinton, Rotherham, on November 4 was worrying because animals are the “perfect practice victims for violent people”.

Spokesman Ben Williamson said: “Animal abusers are a danger to everyone, they take their issues out on whoever is available to them, human or non-human.”

“It is imperative that the community take action to find the culprit or culprits and stop them.”

Information should be passed to the RSPCA on 0300 1234 999.
