Charles writes book on sustainable living

A NEW book by the Prince of Wales is published this week, documenting his personal views on living sustainably to save the planet.

And in a first for a monarch-in-waiting, Charles has also recorded the unabridged audiobook version of the book, Harmony, A New Way of Looking at the World.

The book, co-written with former Friends of the Earth executive director Tony Juniper and broadcaster and writer Ian Skelly, examines how to achieve a more sustainable future for humanity.

It looks at areas from farming to architecture and education and suggests that by combining the best modern science and technology with traditional knowledge and skills, the balance between humans and nature can be restored.

The Prince of Wales recorded the audio version of the book at Highgrove and his private Scottish residence of Birkhall over a series of days. The audiobook will be published alongside the hardback book by the Blue Door imprint at HarperCollins.

Jo Forshaw, head of audio books, said: “The book has a very important message to share, and by publishing in audio format alongside the traditional book format, and particularly as a download, we will be able to bring this message to a much wider audience.

“It’s always very exciting to hear an author read their own work, and hearing such a vital message being delivered by His Royal Highness himself is a proud moment for HarperAudio.”

The Prince’s other works include A Vision Of Britain, Highgrove and the Elements Of Organic Gardening.
