Checks get underway at reservoir

Essential investigative work is underway at Ogden reservoir near Bradford.

The work, which began yesterday, is part of Yorkshire Water's 60m programme to maintain and modernise reservoir sites across the region.

John Bond, of Yorkshire Water's community engagement team, said: "We appreciate that this is a popular reservoir with visitors and residents of the area and we would like to assure them that we will be working as quickly as possible to carry out this important work with the minimum amount of disruption.

"The work we are doing on the Victorian dams and reservoirs across Yorkshire will enable us to continue to safeguard the high quality water supply to the region for many years to come."

The work, which will take three weeks, will not impact on access, with the easy-access path around the reservoir remaining fully open
