Child rapist jailed for moving in with family

A CONVICTED child rapist who failed to tell the police he had moved into the home of a Bradford mother-of-five has been jailed for flagrantly breaching a court order.

Babysitter Brian Peacock was only 19 when he was sentenced to five years in a young offenders institution in 2006 after he admitted raping two young girls while he was living in the Castleford area.

Peacock was told he had to register as a sex offender with the police for life and was also made the subject of an indefinite sexual offences prevention order (SOPO) which banned him from having unsupervised contact with children under 16.

Bradford Crown Court heard yesterday that following his release in 2008 Peacock had unsupervised contact with a 14-year-old girl and in June 2009 he received a 12-month prison term at York Crown Court for breaching the SOPO.

Earlier this year Peacock, now 24, began living at the home of a young boy without telling police, but he then moved with his girlfriend to a house in Fernbank Road, Bradford.

Peacock notified the police that he was living at the Fernbank Road address, but he later started a relationship with another woman and eventually moved into her home along with her five children.

Although no offences were committed by Peacock against any of the children, he was arrested when police found him at the house in July. The court heard that Peacock has a low IQ.
