Children with world in their hands
Year 5 pupil Milly Wightman shows off her work to grandparents Christine and Ian Wightman. Over 12 weeks, pupils worked in groups to build and look after their own worlds – papier mache landscapes complete with rivers, hospitals, forests, theme parks and 100 citizens. Pupils have dealt with problems such as natural disasters, government intervention and climate change. Yesterday children marked the end of the project by inviting parents and grandparents to explore issues that affect the real world.
