Children’s social worker struck off

A SOCIAL worker from Yorkshire has been struck off for failing to provide adequate care to children.

A Health and Care Professions Council conduct and competence committee found Deborah Lindley, who worked in Rotherham, had recorded she visited one child on two dates when she had not and had also carried out an adoption visit incorrectly.

She was also aware of concerns about three boys but cancelled an arranged visit, admitting she had failed to protect them.

The panel ruled the acts amounted to misconduct and presented a risk to youngsters. She had also brought the profession into disrepute through her dishonesty.

Lindley was not present and not represented at the hearing.

She was dismissed for gross misconduct by the council in 2011.
