Cigarettes worth thousands stolen

Cigarettes worth thousands of pounds were stolen while a lorry was delivering to a shop in York.

North Yorkshire Police say the theft occurred at 11.25am on Monday as a P & H Retail Distributions wagon was delivering to London’s newsagents on the junction of East Parade and Mill Lane in Heworth.

When he returned to his vehicle the shutter door had been forced open and 200 boxes taken.
