City moves to pole position in green race

A YORKSHIRE city looks set to trailblaze the green revolution after plans for a wind turbine factory were approved which could potentially create thousands of new jobs.

The £210m Green Port Hull, a joint development between Associated British Ports and Siemens, still needs final approval from Ministers, but construction could begin early next year.

Hull Council fought hard to get the scheme and last year pledged £5m towards infrastructure work.
