City plans to promote 
enterprise 
in schools

The business-driven E3 Bradford project is being supported by Bradford Council and the Bradford Chamber of Commerce and seeks to create a new enterprise curriculum for education providers across the city, with the intention of delivering home-grown talent to the business community.

E3 Bradford, which stands for Education, Enterprise, Employment, aims to deliver a programme of enterprising activities involving businesses of all sizes and from all sectors, from across the district.

The team behind E3 is recruiting an army of business ambassadors and enterprise champions to get involved in pushing the scheme forwards. They are also required to outline their needs for the future workforce across the district.

Eventually, the hope is the curriculum will be adopted by all education providers across Bradford and backed by up to 1,000 businesses who will introduce and promote enterprise and business activity within the education system.

The E3 Bradford work began last year and Paul Mackie, the chairman of the E3 Bradford partnership, says they want a “golden thread of enterprise” running through curriculums. The E3 Bradford scheme is part of Bradford Council’s £7.7m Get Bradford Working programme.
