Civic reception for restaurant that was runner-up in TV show

A FAMILY-RUN restaurant which reached the final of a television contest led by celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay has been honoured with a civic reception at Bradford City Hall.

Prashad, an Indian vegetarian restaurant in the city, was runner-up in the final of Channel 4's Ramsay's Best Restaurant.

Bradford's Lord Mayor, Coun Peter Hill and his wife Gillian, were said to be avid viewers of the programme, screened last year.

The reception recognised the restaurant's achievement in reaching the contest's final, raising Bradford's profile and positioning the city as a destination of choice for food lovers.
