Civic reception for rugby squad

HALIFAX’s victorious rugby team are to receive a civic reception tonight after winning the Co-operative Championship Grand Final.

Halifax beat finalists Featherstone Rovers with a 23 – 22 win at last Sunday’s match held in Warrington.

Tonight, the Mayor of Calderdale, Coun Ann McAllister, is holding a civic reception for the 2010 squad at Halifax Town Hall. The players, coaching staff and officials will be attending to celebrate their achievement.

Following the reception, fans are invited to an evening at The Shay from 7.30pm.
