Class A drug gang jailed for 22 years

A DRUGS gang who brought quantities of heroin and crack cocaine with a street value of £15,000 into Scarborough was sentenced to a total of nearly 22 years yesterday for conspiracy to supply Class A drugs following a three-year police investigation.

Thomas Robert Hunt, from Manchester, who organised the gang, was sentenced to six years’ imprisonment, Adrian Hudson, from Manchester, was given four years and Paul Newlove, also from Manchester, was jailed for three years and seven months.

Two Scarborough men, Stephen Lee and Paul Rennie, were given four years and three years and three months respectively.

The men all pleaded guilty at a previous appearance at York Crown Court.

The police probe uncovered Class A drugs valued at £15,000 and in excess of £12,000 in cash.

The gang ran their operation from Moston.
