Classics of the road invited to join celebration of motoring

CLASSIC cars from the past century, including a fully-restored 1936 Austin Clifton that hasn't been out on the road for more than 40 years, are set to be the stars of a motor show in The Moor, Sheffield, this weekend.

Organisers of the "Classics on the Moor" show say the event is set to be the biggest in the event's three-year history, but are still looking for more people to exhibit their vehicles.

The free show is also set to unveil a range of rare Minis and other cars brought along by enthusiasts from the Morris Minor Club.

Sandra Barley, The Moor's centre liaison manager, said: "The event is one of our most popular attractions and we've been thrilled with the interest to date.

"If you've got a motor vehicle that can be considered a classic in your garage, why not come along and show it off to hundreds of people that will really appreciate it?"

Classics On The Moor takes place on Sunday, from 11am until 4pm. As well as classic cars, attractions are also set to include children's activities and entertainment. Those interested in showing their cars should call 07872 462429 for further details.

Vintage vehicle owners are also invited to attend the "Blackpool Bank Holiday Extravaganza", taking place at Crich Tramway Village on August 29 and 30, to mark the 125th anniversary of the Blackpool tram.
