Clegg's wife hailed as 'woman of now'

Miriam Gonzalez Clegg was hailed as "the woman of the now" when she launched an ethically-aware fashion showcase. The mother-of-three, who is married to the Deputy Prime Minister Nick Clegg, was in west London to launch Ecoluxe as part of London Fashion Week.

The brand, which features shoes made from fish leather and organic cotton, will create a range of luxury goods produced in an environmentally friendly way.

Mrs Gonzalez Clegg said she had given her backing because she hoped Ecoluxe would help people re-evaluate the way in which they bought and disposed of clothes. Designers Stamo and Elena Garcia said the Deputy Prime Minister's wife was very "now" and thanked her for her support.
