Clubs give their city sporting chance

A GROUND-breaking move by two of Bradford's top sporting clubs to help improve the lives of young people was launched yesterday.

Bradford Bulls and Bradford City are joining Your Sporting Chance, a community programme set up in 2009.

Backed by Keighley Cougars the programme has supported over 70 young people in the Keighley area.

The success of the programme was recognised when representatives from the Cougars and the project were invited to showcase their work to The Rugby League All Party Parliamentary Group at the House of Commons.

The sports programme has been supported by Incommunities Foundation Ltd, the charitable arm of the district's largest social housing landlord (Incommunities).

Your Sporting Chance focuses on tackling some of the issues that young communities face and challenging some of the stereotypical views associated with young people.

Three youth project workers are to be recruited and will work with youngsters in the Allerton, Thornton, Holme Wood and Wyke areas of the city.
