Coastival line-up on crest of a wave

A FESTIVAL in Scarborough has launched its new programme with a pledge to provide a new perspective on the burgeoning arts scene on the Yorkshire coast.

A total of 44 events and attractions are being lined up for the Coastival – A Different View event in Scarborough on February 16, and the programme was launched yesterday with Wendy Holroyd, director of Scarborough art development agency Create, on Oliver’s Mount.

Former Culture Club singer Boy George, now a respected DJ, will headline an evening of music and lightshows at the Scarborough Spa. Earlier in the evening, a demonstration of video mapping will see images and animations projected on to the Spa complex. The festival will also feature classical
music, theatre and art installations. See
