Scarborough has emerged as a centre for high-tech businesses, and the town’s growth in the sector has seen the transformation of the former Woodend Museum into a base for creative industries.

Mr Oliver will be discussing his pioneering work which has included creating album covers for music artistes such as The Cocteau Twins and The Pixies.

He has also worked on television commercials for Microsoft, Converse and Sony PlayStation as well as overseeing designs for Harrods. He has also been responsible for print and promotional campaigns.

Mr Oliver’s lecture is part of the Digital Scarborough programme of events and has been arranged by a graphic designer who is based in the town, Patrick Argent.

Mr Oliver’s speech is at Westwood campus of Yorkshire Coast College, starting at 2pm tomorrow.
