Collectable sovereigns and jewellery stolen from Brighouse home

THIEVES stole collectable sovereigns and jewellery worth thousands of pounds from a house in Brighouse.

The thieves forced entry through a rear window at around 3pm on June 1 and took dozens of items including a Royal Mint medieval bangle, diamond bracelet, diamond rings and a gold bracelet.

Detective constable Simon Jenkinson, of Halifax CID, said: “We are appealing to members of the public to come forward with any information to help us trace the items stolen during this burglary.

“A large volume of coins and jewellery was taken from the property which have significant sentimental and financial value and we hope to be able to reunite these with their rightful owner.

“We would like to hear from anyone who witnessed anything on the day, or has any information about this incident.

“Also if anyone has tried to sell any gold sovereigns to contact myself via 101.”
