A collection to wrestle with...

Darren Ward reckons he has more than 20,000 items in his collection of British wrestling memorabilia.

His collection, housed in a converted loft in a home in east Leeds, includes tickets, posters, programmes, signed photographs of some of the top wrestlers of their day including Giant Haystacks and more unusual items including the NHS card of Big Daddy, also known as Shirley Crabtree.

Mr Ward, 44, a former amateur and professional wrestler, who was forced to give up his career after a car crash says he has just collected everything he could get hold of. Mr Ward, whose stage name was Tarzan Boy Darren, said: "I must have about 20,000-plus items now in my collection – I never envisaged it would get so big but I'm just fascinated by wrestling."
