College campus named after Hockney

David Hockney has been honoured after the new Bradford College campus was named after the artist.

Earlier this year a competition was launched inviting staff and students to name the new college campus which has been named the ‘The David Hockney Building.’

Mr Hockney, who attended Bradford College, said: “I am thrilled that Bradford College has requested to name their new building after me, and of course I am delighted to give my consent.”

The Yorkshire artist joined Bradford College when it was known as Bradford Regional Art School in 1953, graduating with honours in 1957. He went on to become known across the world.
