Mrs Kakoty said: "I keep going to Rajasthan but this is the first time I'm showing the work in Barnsley. I had an exhibition of the Rajasthan work in London, but I'm quite anxious to see how people here receive it. Many of the pictures are of Rajasthani people and there are also some landscapes and watercolours of old palaces.

"It's such a colourful place, it's amazing."

The Colours of Rajasthan exhibition will be opened by the Mayor of Barnsley, Councillor John Parkinson, at 2pm on Saturday. It will run for two weeks and be open to the public from 11am to 3pm every day except Mondays.
