Comedy evening set to help charity

A DISABLED children’s organisation wants people to join in and “chuckle for charity” as it hosts a fund-raising evening of comedy.

The Calderdale Parent & Carer’s Council (CPCC) will host a line-up of local and nationally-recognised comedians at the Square Chapel, Halifax, on November 2.

The event is sponsored by leading law firm Irwin Mitchell, which is working with the charity to help raise funds so that it can continue to help and support families of children and young adults who have special educational or additional needs.

The project manager at CPCC, Karen Bull, said: “We need to raise vital funds every year to make sure that we can continue to provide the help and support to the local families who depend on us.”

Comedian Mick Ferry, who has appeared on BBC One programme Michael McIntyre’s Comedy Roadshow and who writes for John Bishop’s Britain, will act as the MC for the evening which will also include an appearance from a high-profile secret headline act.

Tickets for the event cost £15 and are available from the Square Chapel box office, with all proceeds raised going to CPCC, by calling 01422 349422.
