Community order for ‘danger dogs’ owner

A DOG OWNER who let her three dogs roam round the neighbourhood attacking other pets and their owners has been sentenced to a community order.

In one incident one of Michelle Adams’ two lurchers bit a woman’s arm and in another an elderly man who was out walking his Yorkshire terrier was pinned up against a fence by the three animals.

Hull Council launched legal action after receiving eight complaints about the dogs - including a Jack Russell - in the space of a year.

On a number of occasions the dogs were picked up by wardens after being found straying.

The animals must now be kept on the lead whenever they are out.

Adams also has to prevent them escaping from her home at 46 Padstow Close, on the city’s Bransholme estate.

If they are found on the rampage again they could be seized and put down.

Adams was sentenced at Hull Magistrates Court for four offences of her dogs being dangerously out of control in a public place. She was given a community order for 12 months with a supervision requirement, and ordered to pay £85 costs and a £60 victim surcharge.
