Community project in line for prize

A PROGRAMME designed to help different groups of people in Rotherham come together has been shortlisted for a regional award.

The Chartered Institute of Public Relations (CIPR) has shortlisted Rotherham’s “One Town One Community” campaign in its annual awards, which means it could win the “Best Community Campaign for Yorkshire and Lincolnshire” prize at a ceremony to be held in November.

Coun Mahroof Hussain, who spearheaded the programme, said: “It is fantastic to be shortlisted for this award, which has helped to bring people together from across Rotherham to create positive, sustainable relationships.
