Coronation street postponed again

ITV postponed a third episode of Coronation Street last night in the aftermath of the Cumbrian shootings.

The broadcaster shelved the show for the third night running because its climactic plot features the use of guns.

Screenings were also cancelled on Wednesday and Thursday, leaving programming chiefs with a scheduling headache.

This week's plot, timed to coincide with the programme's launch in high definition, was to involve an armed siege, orchestrated by an escaped convict, which leaves two characters dead.
