Judging by the England team’s World Cup results, Buddy the football-playing donkey could be in the team after astounding crowds at a petting farm with his spectacular skills.
The three-week-old foal made a surprise appearance on May 30 this year because it was not known his mum was expecting.
But even more surprising is his natural talent for the beautiful game.
Owner of Playdale Farm Park in Cayton in North Yorkshire, Mark Wilson, 45, said: “Donkeys do not naturally take to playing with balls.
“The ball had been left behind by the previous Shetland ponies and he just took to it.”
Little Buddy even displays fancy footwork, stepping over the ball with his back foot and hoofing it from behind.
Mark said: “He is only young yet – he may well have a great future ahead of him.
“My 13-year-old daughter, Poppy, spends around half an hour each day coaching him.
“Watch out Roy Hodgson.”
Parent Harry Walsh, 31, who took his young son Alfie to the petting farm, said: “He’s better than the England boys out in Brazil have been.
“He’s got a cracking shot on him and a decent turn of pace - we could do with that.”
