Couple are robbed by masked gang in village near Hull

A masked gang robbed a businessman and his wife in a village near Hull last night.

The gang, four men who were all wearing ski masks, struck as the couple arrived at an address in Beverley Road, Anlaby, around midnight.

They attacked the 44-year-old man and stole a quantity of cash takings that he had been in the process of removing from his vehicle.

They also threatened the 43-year-old woman with a paving stone before stealing her handbag.

The gang made off in a white Vauxhall Astra car in the direction of Hessle.

Humberside Police said the businessman suffered minor injuries in the attack but did not require hospital treatment.
