The jackpot surpassed the 91m paid out in November last year which was shared between two UK tickets.

Based on figures released when The Sunday Times Rich list was published last April, they will be wealthier than Oasis stars Noel and Liam Gallagher (52m), film director Guy Ritchie (50m) and actor Sir Michael Caine (45m).

The lucky numbers are 1, 5, 18, 38 and 45. The Lucky Star numbers are 6 and 4, and another UK millionaire won the Raffle Selection matching ZHR 111871.

The 56m jackpot pushes Les Scadding and wife Sam from South Wales and the Lucky Seven syndicate from Liverpool, who both banked a cheque for 45.5m in November, into joint second place on the National Lottery's Rich List.
