An 81-year-old woman was knocked to the ground in a 'cowardly' attack in Bradford.
Police are appealing for information after the woman was robbed on Pasture Lane between 8.50pm on Sunday May 22 and about 1am on Monday May 23.
The victim was approached by a man while walking on Pasture Lane. He grabbed at her small green leather handbag and pushed her to the floor, before running off.
He was described as white, in his 30s and tall, dressed in black
The victim received a minor hand injury and attended Bradford Royal Infirmary.
Detective Inspector Paula Bickerdyke of Bradford CID, said: "This was a cowardly and callous attack on a clearly elderly and vulnerable woman.
"Given the victim's vulnerability she could easily have been very seriously injured, and we are appealing for information to help locate the man responsible."
She added: "The victim was understandably very distressed by the incident and we have been working with her and her family to try and work out the precise circumstances of what took place.
"I would ask anyone who saw the assault, who saw this woman walking in the Pasture Lane & Bradford Road area or has any information about how she attended BRI to contact the police.
"Information can be given to Bradford CID on 101 or anonymously to the independent Crimestoppers charity on 0800 555 111."
