Crash appeal as man fights for life

A MAN who was the front-seat passenger in a car which overturned on Sheffield Parkway as it approached the junction with the M1 is still in a "life-threatening" condition in hospital.

Scott Chitty, 22, of Burns Street, Gainsborough, was initially taken to Rotherham District General Hospital but the extent of his spinal injuries led to him being transferred to Sheffield's Northern General Hospital.

The driver of the Astra, a 20-year-old man from Retford, was also taken to Rotherham District General Hospital with serious injuries but later released.
