Crematorium to hold carol service

Organised by the city council's bereavement services division, the service is open to anyone – including people who are recently bereaved and those who have lost someone at any time in their lives and will take place in the large chapel at the crematorium on Chanterlands Avenue at 2pm on Sunday.

Children from Priory Primary School Choir will be singing, accompanied by organist Tony Brown and the Salvation Army.

The service, which is held annually, will be led by the Reverend Stephen Whaley.

Andy Brown, Hull City Council's head of customer services and engagement, said: "We hold the carol service on an annual basis and many people find it a moving and uplifting way of remembering their loved ones at this special time of year."

The organisers said they were advising those attending to take extra care on the roads and footpaths within the cemetery grounds because of the wintry conditions.
