Cricketer poses nude for gay magazine

England cricketer Jimmy Anderson bowled a googly at one of Britain's most conservative sports as he became the first professional player on the cover of gay magazine Attitude.

The 28-year-old, who is married, posed nude for next month’s issue. “I think the game is moving with the times,” he said.

The player said he would probably get “some stick” for taking part in the shoot by fashion photographer Ram Shergill but added: “If there are any gay cricketers, they should feel confident enough to come out, because I don’t think there is homophobia in cricket.”

Attitude Editor Matthew Todd said: “His wife and her many gay friends convinced him to do it. We’re very grateful to her.”
