13-year-old girl seriously injured after crash on A1(M)

A 13-year-old girl is in hospital with serious injuries after a crash on the A1(M).

The crash happened at around 11am on Friday, July 17, and South Yorkshire Police are now appealing for dashcam footage or witnesses to come forward.

An Iveco flatbed truck was travelling north on the motorway, near Doncaster, when it left the carriageway and drove down the embankment.

A statement from the force said: "A 13-year-old girl was taken to hospital with serious injuries, where she remains. The driver of the vehicle was uninjured.

"Officers are urging anyone who saw what happened, or who has dashcam footage of the vehicle prior to the collision to contact them. You can call 101 quoting incident number 324 of July 17. You can send dashcam footage to [email protected] quoting the same incident number in the subject line."

It is not known how the girl sustained her injuries.
