Abducted man victim of violent assault

A MAN was kidnapped and driven away in a van before being taken to an outbuilding and attacked by three men, police have revealed.

The injured man was a 35-year- old who was first assaulted at an address in Thorne Road, Doncaster, near Lindholme Prison, and was then taken away in a white Peugeot van to a disused outbuilding where three men carried out a further assault.

Police believe that attack happened in a disused building off Common Lane, between Lindholme and Auckley and the injured man was left with a broken arm, missing teeth and cuts and bruises to his entire body.

They think the incident, which happened early in the evening of Monday, April 19, may have been linked to a dispute over stolen goods and officers want to trace a witness, a man believed to have been in a car with two children in Common Lane, as part of their inquiries. Officers also want to hear from anyone who saw a white van in the area on that evening or who saw any other suspicious activity.

Det Con Lee Szedzielarz of South Yorkshire Police said: “We believe this to be a targeted attack as a result of a dispute over stolen property. I would urge the public to come forward if they have any information that may help the investigation.”

Police said the men allegedly involved in the incident were all white, one around 37 years old and five feet eight inches tall. Two others were aged 24 to 25 and one of those was skinny with short blond hair.

The other was stocky and had dark hair.

Detectives have already arrested two men in relation to the incident and a 23-year-old has been charged with kidnap and causing grievous bodily harm, while a 27- year-old is facing a charge of causing grievous bodily harm. Both the suspects have been remanded in custody.
