Hide AdThe vulnerable Staffie is now being hand-reared by a local vet where she can be nursed back to health.
RSPCA inspector Emma Brook said: “This very young puppy could not have been more vulnerable.
“She was just a week or two old - many weeks too young to be away from her mother which shouldn’t happen until around eight weeks.
“She also had a serious injury - a large slash-wound to her shoulder-area which had been untreated.”

Emma said: “The vets said it was a very bad injury. They stapled it up but unfortunately it broke down so it’s since had to be managed as an open wound which is more of a challenge.
“I’ve been told she’s doing well though, the wound is now healing and hopefully she is going to make it.”
Anyone who has information about the puppy should contact the RSPCA appeals line on 0300 123 8018.
