Appeal after distraction burglary on woman, 68, in Huddersfield

Police are appealing for information after a distraction burglary on a 68-year-old woman at her home in Huddersfield.


Detectives at Huddersfield CID said one man walked into the woman's home on School Lane, Berry Brow, at around 1.20pm on Friday December 15 and while she asked him to leave, another man entered the house and searched upstairs.

Both men then left with a quantity of cash as well as items of sentimental value to the victim.

Det Con Debbie Montgomery of Huddersfield CID said: "This was a despicable crime which has left the victim terrified in her own home.

"We would like to speak with anyone who has information about the offence or who may have seen the suspects outside the property shortly before the incident, or leaving.

“One of them was described as white in his 40s, of average build and height with short greyish hair."
