Armed robber leaves empty-handed after raid in North Yorkshire village shop

A man armed with a knife attempted to rob a convenience store in a North Yorkshire village before leaving empty-handed.

The incident in Cross Hills, between Skipton and Keighley, at 7.55pm, ended without injury to anyone involved, according to North Yorkshire Police.

The hooded man entered the Spar shop carrying a kitchen knife and a plastic bag, police said.

He told a member of staff to fill the bag with money, but ended up leaving empty-handed.
