Arrests after taxi driver assaulted in Sheffield

Police are appealing for witnesses following a reported assault against a taxi driver in the city centre.

At around 4am on Saturday, police were called to reports of an assault outstide Tank nightclub, in Arundel Gate, Sheffield. The 28-year-old driver, sustained serious injuries and was taken to hospital where he remains in a stable condition.

Three people have been arrested in connection with the incident - two 22-year-old men on suspicion of assault and a 43-year-old man on suspicion of a public order offence. All three have been released on bail.
