Kirklees CID’s Det Insp Stef Wiseman said: “The victim has sustained a number of serious injuries during this assault which could have proved fatal.

“This incident has occurred in a relatively secluded area off the main road, and I believe the suspects will have local knowledge.

“I would appeal to anyone who was in the area around the industrial estate last night between 8pm and 8.30pm to think back to if they saw anyone or anything suspicious, including vehicles acting or driving suspiciously, or driving off from the industrial estate at speed.”

Anyone with information is asked to contact Kirklees CID via West Yorkshire Police’s 101 phone number.
