Attempted armed robbery at Sheffield takeaway

Police are appealing for information following an attempted armed robbery at a takeaway in Sheffield in the early hours of today (Sunday).

Just after midnight police received reports that an unknown man had entered the Mehr’s Masala takeaway in Prince of Wales Road, Sheffield.

The man is alleged to have threatened staff with what is believed to be a handgun, demanding money.

This was refused and the man left the takeaway empty-handed, running from the scene along Prince of Wales Road in the direction of Manor Top.

The man is described as being black, around 6ft tall, of stocky build and with a moustache.

Anyone with information about the incident is asked to call 101 quoting incident number 9 of 19 April 2015.
