Balaclava-clad men fire gun shots at car in second Sheffield firearms incident

.The incident took place in Longley Avenue West, Shirecliffe at around 12.20am this morning, when a car containing four men in balaclavas are reported to have fired shots at another car in Longley Avenue West after following it from Penrith Road.

Following a search of the local area, a car believed to be involved was later recovered abandoned and on fire in Nestfield Way,

A South Yorkshire Police spokesman said there are not believed to be any connections to the earlier reports of shots fired in Scotia Drive, Manor that took place at around 9.30pm yesterday evening.

A spokesman said: "Nobody was injured during the incident and officers remain in the area carrying out enquiries and providing reassurance.

"At this time, it is thought that the incident involves individuals known to each other but officers are keeping an open mind."
