Ban for biker who hit 112mph in 50mph zone

A motorcyclist caught by a speed camera travelling at 112mph in a 50mph zone has been banned from the roads and fined £750.

Roger Tobola, of Bitterne, Southampton, was disqualified for six months at Southampton Magistrates’ Court on Thursday after pleading guilty to three speeding offences. He was also ordered to pay a £750 fine, £35 costs and a £15 victim surcharge.

A police spokesman said Tobola’s Yamaha XJR 1300 had no front registration plate but he had been traced by officers who identified him later because of his clothing and helmet. The offences took place on the route that he used for commuting to work.
